東京レインボープライド、新代表体制のお知らせ

このたび、特定非営利活動法人東京レインボープライドは、2024年10月1日より新しい代表体制に移行することをお知らせします。9月30日をもって杉山 文野が共同代表理事を退任し、現任の山田 なつみに加え、新たに佐藤 ユウコが共同代表理事に就任しました。
杉山は、2015年に共同代表理事に就任し、LGBTQ+の可視化やアドボカシー活動に尽力してきました。今後も杉山は、東京レインボープライドの理事として、引き続き後進の育成とアドボカシー活動に力を入れていきます。
山田 なつみは、2012年の東京レインボープライドの初開催からボランティアとして参加し、2019年に共同代表理事に就任しました。東京レインボープライドの組織づくりや全国のプライド開催団体のネットワークであるJapan Pride Network（全国プライドネットワーク）の活動にも尽力しており、コミュニティの発展に貢献してきました。
新たに就任する佐藤 ユウコは、教員を経験したのち、グローバル企業のDEI（Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion）の担当者を務めています。教育者として、そしてDEI担当者としての知見に加え、自身の海外で育った背景やジェンダークイアであること、民族差別、言語・教育・地域格差の体験など、さまざまな経験を活かして、東京レインボープライドに貢献することが期待されています。
東京レインボープライドは、2015年の法人化以来、LGBTQ+の可視化を進め、その存在や課題を広く認識してもらうために努力を重ねてきました。現在では、LGBTQ+という存在がより多くの人々に理解され、受け入れられるようになっています。
そして今、可視化の成果を踏まえ、具体的な課題解決の時代に突入しています。東京レインボープライドは新体制のもと、法整備や人権、エクイティの問題に焦点を当て、SOGI（性的指向と性自認）だけでなく、インターセクショナルな課題にも取り組んでいきます。
また、可視化が進む一方で、LGBTQ+に対するバックラッシュも増加しています。社会の変化の過程では困難な状況が生じることもありますが、私たちはその困難に立ち向かい、すべての人が “らしく、たのしく、ほこらしく” 生きられる社会の実現を目指して活動を続けてまいります。

Announcement of New Leadership Structure at Tokyo Rainbow Pride

TOKYO RAINBOW PRIDE
We are pleased to announce that as of October 1, 2024, Tokyo Rainbow Pride will transition to a new leadership structure. As of September 30, Fumino Sugiyama has stepped down as Co-chair, Board of Directors, Executive Committee. Alongside Natsumi Yamada, current Co-chair, Yuko Sato will join as the new Co-chair of Board of Directors, Executive Committee.
Since taking on the role of Co-Chair in 2015, Fumino Sugiyama has dedicated efforts to the visibility and advocacy for LGBTQ+ issues. Sugiyama will continue to contribute as a member of the Executive Committee, focusing on nurturing future leaders and advocacy activities.
Natsumi Yamada has been involved as a volunteer since the first Tokyo Rainbow Pride in 2012 and became the Co-chair in 2019. Yamada has contributed to the organizational development of Tokyo Rainbow Pride and the Japan Pride Network, which connects pride organizations nationwide, playing a vital role in community growth.
The newly appointed Yuko Sato is a former teacher and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) professional in a global company. In addition to their background as an educator and DEI professional, Sato will contribute to Tokyo Rainbow Pride by leveraging their various experiences such as growing up abroad, being genderqueer, and experiencing racism, language, education, and regional inequality.
Since its establishment as a legal non-profit entity in 2015, Tokyo Rainbow Pride has worked to improve the visibility of LGBTQ+ people and to raise awareness of their existence and the issues they face. Today, LGBTQ+ visibility has become more widely known and accepted by a broader public.
Given the results of our efforts to advance visibility, we are entering an era of solving actual issues. Under the new structure, Tokyo Rainbow Pride will focus on legal protection, human rights, and equity rights. We will also tackle intersectional issues and continuing challenges based on SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity).
While visibility is increasing, there is also a growing backlash against LGBTQ+. In the process of social change, difficult situations may arise. However, we will face these challenges and continue to work toward the realization of a society where all people can live “as they are,” “with joy,” and “in a dignified manner.”
