2024年3月15日、TRP2024開催に関して弊団体（NPO法人東京レインボープライド、以下TRP）は次の声明を発表いたしました。

「パレスチナ・イスラエルをめぐる現状に関するお問い合わせについて」

この声明について、「事実に反する」「虚偽」「アパルトヘイト・ジェノサイドに加担する」などといった指摘があり、心配されている方もいらっしゃると思います。

まず、弊団体に対するこのような非常に厳しい言葉を使用しての指摘こそ、事実に反しており、遺憾にたえません。

TRPは、多様な性のあり方を尊重することを前提として、誰もが自分らしく生きられる社会の実現を理念としており、すべての個人、企業、組織及び国等が人権侵害に加担することはあってはならないと考えています。

加えて、TRPは、あらゆる国や地域に住むLGBTQ+を含むすべての人たちが差別を受けない社会を目指しており、紛争下にある人たちはもちろんのこと、名指しで非難されている特定の国や地域、企業の中で生活や仕事をせざるを得ない状況にあるLGBTQ+の人たちのことも深く憂慮しています。

また、日本ではLGBTQ+に理解のある企業はまだ非常に限られています。TRPの協賛企業はほとんどの場合、担当者が社内で説得を試み、TRPへの出展等で少しでも社内のLGBTQ+の理解・啓発に繋げたいと奮闘されているのが現状です。日本のLGBTQ+の人権課題に取り組む弊団体としては、こういった企業の皆さまとも協力しながら、課題解決のためにひとつずつ前に進めている状況です。そのため、まだまだLGBTQ+の課題解決の途上にあり、TRPが「ピンクウォッシュ」（※ピンクウォッシュの定義もまた様々にありますが、ここではLGBTQ+の権利を他のコミュニティに対する暴力の正当化に利用することとしています）に加担しているという指摘は、弊団体の活動の現実と乖離しています。

その上で私たちは、「ジェノサイドへの加担か」「真の人権か」のどちらかを選択すべきだという単純な二項対立で語ることはできない問題だと捉えており、こういった論調が本来の目的と離れて、LGBTQ+コミュニティの分断を煽るようなことに繋がりかねないと、大きな懸念を抱いています。

かつてないほど激化しているパレスチナにおける非人道的な行為に対して、TRPは団体としても、日々LGBTQ+の人権課題に取り組んでいるスタッフ一人ひとりもみな心を痛めており、即時停戦を願っています。

今後もすべての戦争、虐殺、暴力や弾圧によって生命の危険に晒されている人たちのために、私たちは具体的に何ができるのか、これについての建設的な意見や提案については歓迎いたしますが、LGBTQ+コミュニティの分断を煽るような呼びかけに弊団体が関与することはございません。併せて、弊団体イベントの妨害を主導する活動に対しては強く抗議いたします。

私たちはTRP2024の開催を楽しみにされている皆さまをはじめ、関わるすべての皆さまが、安心・安全にご来場いただけますよう、当日に向けて最善を尽くして準備を進めて参ります。

TRPが、互いに異なる意見を尊重することの大切さ、そして一人ひとりの人権および命の重さについて考えるきっかけの場となることを強く願います。

今こそ結束し、悲惨な現状に対して、私たちに何ができるのかを共に考えて参りましょう。

To all those anticipating TRP2024, as well as to all collaborators, staff, and volunteers who are tirelessly preparing for the Pride event day and night,

On March 15, 2024, our organization (Tokyo Rainbow Pride NPO, hereinafter referred to as TRP) issued the following statement regarding our event TRP2024:

“Statement on Inquiries Regarding the Current Situation Involving Palestine and Israel”

Following this statement, there are accusations of “falsehoods” and “complicity in apartheid and genocide” which have caused concern among those anticipated attendees and supporters.

We are filled with indignation as such representation is contrary to the way our organization is and to our policies.

TRP operates under the premise of respecting diverse expressions of gender and strives for the realization of a society where everyone can live authentically. We firmly believe that no individual, corporation, organization, or nation should commit human rights violations.

Furthermore, TRP aims for a society where everyone, including LGBTQ+ individuals residing in any country or region, is free from discrimination. We express deep concern for those who are forced to live in conflict-affected areas. We also want to acknowledge the pain of LGBTQ+ individuals forced to endure condemnation due to specific regions, countries or entities where they live and work.

We recognize that social acceptance of LGBTQ+ community in Japan remains significantly limited. Most of TRP’s sponsor companies are striving and struggling to promote understanding and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues inside their business and for their employees , often through participation in TRP events. As an organization addressing LGBTQ+ human rights issues in Japan, we are working collaboratively with these companies to tackle challenges one step at a time. Japan is still in the early stages of resolving challenges for LGBTQ+ communities, and the criticism that TRP is complicit in “pinkwashing” (※The definition of pinkwashing varies, but here it refers to the justification of violence against other communities using LGBTQ+ rights) is not what our organization aims to achieve.

In light of this, we believe that framing this issue as a simple dichotomy between being “complicit in genocide” and “genuine human rights” is inadequate. Such discourse risks deviating from the core objectives and potentially sows division within the LGBTQ+ community. This is a great concern as our goal is to create space for solidarity.

TRP as an organization and our staff, who have been working tirelessly to create safe space for LGBTQ+ rights, are deeply heartbroken and anguished by the day to day escalation of the humanitarian crisis in Palestine and fervently hope for an immediate ceasefire.

Looking ahead, TRP always welcomes constructive feedback and suggestions on how we can support those exposed to danger due to conflicts, genocides, violence, and repression. However, we will not engage in calls that sow division within the LGBTQ+ community. Furthermore, we strongly condemn any attempts to disrupt the peaceful attendance of our events.

We are diligently preparing for the TRP2024 event, prioritizing the safety and security of all participants and all involved collaborators.

We sincerely hope that TRP can serve as a platform for respecting diverse viewpoints and fostering reflection on individual rights and the sanctity of life. Let us unite together now and consider collectively what actions we can take in these challenging times.
